Hi Friends! Happy December! One of my awesome coworkers tagged me in her Blogmas tag and I thought I would share in the fun and post! Hope you enjoy my Christmas traditions!
1. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve? Yes! It has always been a tradition to we open our family gifts on Christmas Eve. Normally we wait for "Santa's presents" until Christmas day, but ever since we were little we always opened our presents to and from each other on Christmas Eve. 2. Is your Christmas tree real or fake? I think we have only gotten a real tree twice in my lifetime, but I LOVED every minute of it. Most of the time we put up our fake tree, but we also have 7 other trees around our house. 3. What is your favorite holiday food or treat? My favorite holiday treat would have to be Peppermint Hot Coco or Christmas cutout cookies! 4. What is your favorite Christmas scent? I love Balsam and Peppermint. Those def tie for first! :) Bath and Body Works candles are always a must for these FOR SURE! 5. What is your favorite Christmas film? I am a sucker for Hallmark anything. I KNOW they are cheesy, but something about them screams Christmas. Another one of my favorites is the movie Elf and Polar Express. 6. When do you get excited for Christmas? The moment the Macy's Day Parade ends with Santa! 7. Be honest. Giving gifts? Or receiving? Not gonna lie I always love getting presents, but I also enjoy seeing everyone's reactions about the presents I give them. Christmas is a lot more than just presents :) Jesus is the reason for the season! 8. Where do you spend Christmas? I always spend Christmas at home and I venture 15 minutes away to my grandparents house. I love being so close to home and so connected with family on such a wonderful day! 9. What is your dream holiday vacation? I would LOVE to go somewhere warm for the holidays, but I also would love to venture to New York as well. There are so many fun Christmas elements that New York City has to offer, which truly puts me into the sprit of the holidays. 10. What's the best part of Christmas for you? Oh wow it is so hard to pick just one! My favorite part about Christmas is spending it with the people I love. Plus I always enjoy the spirit of the holidays leading up to Christmas and the many traditions that my family have. I love the lights and the decorations around the house. I also love going to Mass on Christmas Eve, opening presents and eating lots and LOTS of food :) Tag you're it Halleelu and Whereyourhearisnow! I hope you enjoyed my post! Don't forget to subscribe. I promise in the new year I will try to blog a lot more! Have a wonderful week! xoxo Brit

Hello Readers and happy Friday! YAY! I decided to do a post tonight on runway trends that you can create on a budget. Below I have listed out the trend and how you can adapt it to your own style. I figured this could be an easy way to stay up on the trends without breaking the bank. Plus I have also included a sample outfit inspo that I created using Polyvore. 1. Pearls The first trend that was seen all over the runway for A/W 17 is Pearls. The pearl trend was seen on denim, bags and even shoes. One designer, Paige Brigitte, is selling her jeans on Bloomingdales for $350 dollars. There are WAY cheaper alternatives that can be found at Express, CR and even by Do It Yourself projects at home with old jeans that you have in your closet! See Franceska Garza's Youtube video for ways to DIY using pearls. 2. Metallic Chanel was a major player in showcasing the metallic trend. This trend can be overall metallic or touches of metallic like shoes. This trend can add a touch of color and sparkle to any outfit. Some of my favorite metallic trends can be found here: Old Navy, ASOS or Express. 3. Red Red was named the color for Fall 2017. During Fashion Week, red was seen from designers like Max Mara and Victoria Beckham. Nevertheless this staple fall color is what you need to be wearing. Pops of red like a staple sweater, purse or lipstick color can make this an affordable trend to follow for this fall. I hope you enjoyed this short post! -Brit Happy Sunday!
Hi again!
Hello All!
Happy Sunday!
I am finally posting and finally posting about my New York trip. I had a wonderful weekend full of shopping, food and fun! I stayed at the Arlo Nomad in Korea Town near the Garment District. The hotel had art deco vibes with a restaurant called Massoni located on the first floor. The weather when I was there required a coat or a heavy sweater. Most of my outfits consisted of a heavy sweater, leggings and either my L.L Bean Boots or Adidas Neo Sneakers. The first day I visited Mood Fabrics and met the Project Runway, famous dog Swatch. We ate at Blank Slate Market and I got the Mushroom Scramble. For lunch, we ate at a local pizza place and then for dessert we stopped at Idea Coffee and I got the Green Light Drink (shown above) For dinner we ate at a steakhouse and then explored the city near the Empire State Building. On Saturday, we had plans to go eat at Laduree in Soho so, we decided to conquer the subway beforehand. I would highly recommend the app Transit. This app was great in helping us navigate the subway. Coming into Soho we first stopped at an Aerie pop up shop (seen above) They gave out free emoji cookies and cotton candy. For brunch we went to Laduree. Laduree was FANTASTIC. I would highly HIGHLY recommend going to eat there. I got Avocado Toast, but their macaroons were also delicious. After exploring Soho, we rode the subway to Chelsea and Greenwich Village. The clock image seen above is seen from the Chelsea Market where inside there was lots of shopping and places to eat. Sunday we ate brunch at Massoni and hit Victoria's Secret, Macy's and DSW then flew home. In terms of what I am wearing above: Sweater: Old Navy Turtle Neck (similar) Blanket Scarf: Target (similar) Leggings: Lululemon Wunder Unders Purse: Louis Vuitton Venice Sac Plat in Damier Ebene (retired) Shoes: Adidas Neo Sunglasses: Aerie (similar) Thanks for reading! Talk to you soon, Brit Happy March!
Spring is almost here and once again the weather appears to still be on the fence between winter and spring, but nevertheless I am excited to share with you my almost spring favorites. This month I will be traveling A LOT! I am going home for spring break and traveling to New York, which means I need items that are perfect for all my travel needs. The following items listed below are helping me stay organized and look cute while doing it. 1. Bootay Bag Bootay Bag is a monthly subscription service that is $12 dollars a month, free shipping and they send you 2 pairs of underwear in a variety of styles. You can pick between lace, thong and cheeky styles. Plus every month the colors and styles change to be cohesive to that season. These underwear are SUPER COMFY and plus if you snap a picture with them they donate $1 to the Melanoma Foundation. This underwear is super wonderful for travel because it comes with a cute little reusable pouch as seen in my images above. Check them out at: https://bootaybag.com/ 2. Magazines Trying to keep myself occupied during a long flight can be rather challenging. I have been looking to fashion magazines like Cosmo, Vogue and InStyle to keep me entertained and make my flight literally FLY by. These magazines can be purchased at convenience stores like Walgreens, CVS etc. 3. Adidas Neo I am in love with these sneakers. In most cases, you can see me grabbing for these over my other sneakers. I am so excited to wear these for my various trips this month. Beware they run a half a size down, so since I am normally an 8.5 in shoes, but for these I got an 8. You can buy these here: DSW Adidas Neo 4. Too Faced: Sweet Peach Eye-shadow Palette This is my all time favorite palette now and if you do not have this I totally recommend it. I got mine at Ulta, but it can also be purchased from the Too Faced Website. The peachy tones are perfect for spring and look great on any skin tone. Plus this palette smells like peaches, and you can get 20% off your first purchase by entering your email, what more could you want? I will definitely be taking this in my suitcase since it is super lightweight and very versatile. 5. Travel Planner Whenever I am traveling, I love to take a travel planner with me at all times. This way I can keep all my reservations organized and list out the destinations that I want to see. For my trip to New York I am using this super cute planner from Jo-Anns to keep myself organized and document all my favorite places. Hope this helps you with all your spring break planning! Until next time, Brit "If you want more kindness in the world - put it there" - Lululemon En Creme Dress (NOT EXACT) | Roxy Bayshore (MULTIPLE COLORS) | Tiffany & Co Heart Tag Charm Bracelet- Silver | Coach Mercer Satchel 24 - Hologram Leather (SOLD OUT) | Pandora Rings Howdy Everyone! It was gorgeous today! That means I pulled out a sundress and decided to explore the outdoors. This type of weather rarely happens during February in my area of town, so you definitely could say that I took advantage of it. I decided to compliment the bright blue sky by sticking with pastel hues that had me longing for spring. My shoes are a cheaper alternative to Converse, super comfortable and come in a variety of colors. Check them out in the link below. I decided to change my bag back to my Coach purse because the crossbody function allows for ice cream eating and hand holding on a day like today. Sadly, my purse is sold out! I found my dress at a small boutique close to home, but if I can find a dupe I will like it below. Hope you all enjoy your weekend, do not forget to subscribe and follow me on Instagram @ModernBritches. It is finally starting to feel a lot like spring in my neck of the woods. Excited to start peeling layers and changing my wardrobe for spring. Today I decided to focus on athleisure wear. I found this really CUTE velvet hat from DSW that I wanted to share. This look is perfect for heading to the gym, shopping or lounging around the house. I paired this look with my favorite Adidas shoes, which are on trend since last summer.
